Communication Requests
One of the goals for OSCA is to communicate with our members information that is valuable to the school counseling profession. OSCA does not provide its membership database to third-party entities, but will consider requests to distribute communications through email, or social media. Requests that align with the mission and goals of OSCA will be considered for sharing. OSCA reserves the right to deny any request for communication without notice.OSCA representatives are available to speak in person or virtually at a variety of functions including regional school counselor meetings, affiliate organization meetings, graduate classrooms, etc. Topics that OSCA can speak to include a variety of topics related to the school counseling profession including school counselor identity, model programming, evaluation, advocacy, leadership, and more. If interested in having a representative speak, please email us at osca@ohioschoolcounselor.org and we will put you in touch with an appropriate person. Please note that not all speaker requests may be filled as OSCA is led by volunteer school counselors working in the field.
Media Requests
The Ohio School Counselor Association wants to help you get the word out about the amazing work school counselors do in Ohio and across the country. If you would like to speak with an OSCA representative about a particular topic relevant to school counseling, education, youth, mental health or another related topics, please email us at osca@ohioschoolcounselor.org and we will put you in touch with an appropriate spokesperson. Please be sure to leave your contact information, a summary of the request and deadlines. Please note that OSCA is led by volunteer school counselors working in the field. As a result, we are not always able to respond to media requests in a timely manner.
Research Requests
Individuals conducting relevant research specifically related to the school counseling profession may request consideration to recruit participants by submitting an email at osca@ohioschoolcounselor.org. Included in the email should be your name, title and affiliated institution as well as the draft email language, flier or graphic to be sent in the communication. In addition to this information, a PDF copy of the IRB Approval Letter is required to ensure that research studies have been properly vetted and safeguarded. Approved requests will only be sent by email and sent only one time (no requests for follow up participation will be approved).
