Mental Health & Depression Education with Erika's Lighthouse
Shantal Saldana, Manager of School Outreach at Erika's Lighthouse
Description: Depression is a major risk factor for youth who die by suicide. By providing students with tier 1 mental health and depression education, we encourage teens to talk about their mental health, become aware of the resources available, and learn how to seek help for themselves or others. Erika’s Lighthouse programs take a hopeful and empowering approach to educate teens in taking charge of their mental health. This presentation will guide attendees through no-cost, mental health and depression resources that include classroom education, empowerment clubs, family engagement and staff development to promote early identification, prevention, and reduce stigma. All while meeting the Save Students Act Ohio HB123.
