Foundations of Belonging: Creating a Values-Centered Classroom
Description: In this second in a series of three trainings, educators will learn about the importance and utility of values exploration for both themselves and for their students. Educators will explore and articulate their own core values, will get practice centering values in their interpersonal interactions, and will receive a number of supplemental resources to bolster their continued integration of values work in their school communities.
Presenter Information: Beyond Differences is on a mission to inspire students to end social isolation by creating cultures of belonging. They do this through their National Teen Board, by offering free Social Emotional Learning lessons for three National Days of Action, and with free professional development training for educators. Lisette, Beyond Differences Director of Education Programs, holds a Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment. Frederick, Beyond Differences Professional Development Program Manager, holds an MA in Gender & Peacebuilding. Between the two of them Lisette and Frederick have over 30 years of experience in community centered work and education. They are excited to collaborate with Ohio school counselors to build belonging in the Buckeye State!
