Therapy Dogs: Four-Legged Friends Silently Supporting Students in Schools

Description: In a world filled with endless noise and stimulation, students sometimes just need a gentle comfort without even having to talk. In recent years, schools have been implementing Certified Therapy Dogs to help their students. Get tips for buy-in from administrators and how to get started. Learn the process of training your own therapy dog, certification and how effortlessly they help students and staff in schools. The smiles on the faces of students and staff, and most importantly the unexpected connections with students will be absolutely worth it.
Presenter Information: Jessica Gronas is a high school counselor at Lima Central Catholic where she serves as the Director of Guidance. She has had Hope, the Therapy dog since 2019. She is excited to share how the best idea she's had has helped her students and staff.
Additional Information: Pre-registration is required and will be open through the end of the day on February 8. A Zoom meeting link will be emailed out to all registrants the day before the workshop. A CE certificate will be emailed to those in attendance after the event.
