2026 OSCA School Counseling Excellence Award Application

OSCA awards provide an opportunity for the association to recognize and show appreciation for the accomplishments of school counselors, counselor educators, administrators and legislators across Ohio. 

The OSCA School Counseling Excellence Award is a new award that is designed to celebrate innovative school counseling programs, activities and initiatives that are having a positive effect on student success.

Recipients of this award will be those who provide evidence of an innovative program offered at their school as part of their comprehensive school counseling program that is focused on one of the three domains of academic, career or social/emotional development.

As part of the application, applicants will provide an explanation of what the program is, what domain it addresses, what ASCA and/or state learning standards it addresses, data to support student growth, and stakeholder feedback. 

Applicants for this award must be a member of OSCA.

Deadline: Award applications are only accepted from January thru April 30 of each year. Award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Ohio School Counselor Conference on October 15, 2026.

Note: Applicants will be asked to upload two letters of support from  key stakeholders (i.e. administrator, teacher, parent, community partner, student, etc.)
